Oily wastewater is a problem every industrial and commercial facility has to solve — for discharge compliance, and for the equipment downstream of it. The Corrugated Plate Interceptor (CPI) solves it the simplest way possible: with gravity. This widely proven physical separation device removes oils, greases, and suspended solids from industrial and commercial wastewater without a single moving part or watt of power — meeting environmental discharge requirements while protecting downstream processes.

 

How It Works

 

At the heart of the system sits a tank fitted with a pack of parallel corrugated plates. Wastewater flows through the plate pack, and the physics does the rest. The corrugated geometry provides a large effective surface area that encourages oil globules to coalesce and rise to the surface, where they are collected. Meanwhile, suspended solids slide down the plates into a sludge hopper below. What emerges from the outlet is clarified water, ready for discharge or further treatment.
